A Gentle Reminder for the New Year: It’s Still Winter

January 1, 2026. The day the calendar tells us to start fresh, chase goals, make resolutions. But i invite you to pause for a moment…do you feel it? The world outside is quiet, still, blanketed in winter. And so are we.

We’ve been conditioned to see this day as a launchpad, a starting line for productivity, ambition, reinvention. And if you’re feeling that call, by all means, answer it. Set intentions. Make plans. Chase the things your soul calls for.

But also… really notice the season. Notice the yin energy all around you. Winter is soft, introspective, intuitive. It’s about retreating, hibernating, conserving energy. Ask yourself, why do the animals hibernate now? Why do the leaves fall, the plants rest, the earth around us curl inward? The answers aren’t just in the world outside…they’re inside you too.

So if you’re feeling a little heavy, a little quiet, if your mind is full of thoughts or your body just wants to slow down, that’s not a failure. That’s winter. That’s nature. That’s life, friends.

Yes, resolutions are wonderful. Yes, goals are inspiring. But rest is revolutionary, too. Your rest is not wasted time it is THE preparation, the alchemy, the quiet magic that sets the stage for your spring.

So wrap yourself in cozy blankets, journal, walk in the crisp air, breathe. Let yourself honor this season of inward growth. Spring will come, as it always does. And when it does, you’ll be ready. Refreshed, aligned, and full of fire.

Remember, growth isn’t always a sprint. Sometimes, it’s a season of hibernation.
